What is your current location?
New York City

Where do you wish you lived?
I’m already here

What is your setup for making mash-ups?
Fujitsu laptop + Ableton Live (greatway to pass the time on long flights)

Your favorite mix of all time?
DJ Z-Trip & DJ P / Uneasy Listening volume 1
(it’s the Citizen Kane of mixes)

Who got you into mixing and what keeps you doing it?
I saw DJ Andy Smith (fromthe Portishead crew) back in 97 and thought it was the coolest DJ set ever (it was), then I heard Z-Trip, Coldcut & Soulwax and really wanted to try it myself, but I didn’t want to go out and buy 2 Technics and 5 tons of vinyl. 2 years later I realized you could do it without the turntables

The best show you have ever seen?
Pixies, Bosanova tour

How often do you make music?
I try to do half an hour a day (listening to the same loop 500 times can melt your brain, gotta keep it short)

Best movie, album, and tv show?
The Big Lebowski / Pixies-Surfer Rosa / Aqua Teen Hunger Force

If you had to watch one movie from your childhood for 24 hours straight what would it be?
original Star Wars Trilogy

Who do you think is the most under rated artist out there right now?
Morningwood

Whats next for Lobsterdust?
just keep on keepin’ on. the final mixdown forRadio Free Lobster side A will be ready next week, then I’m gonna finish Side B(it’s about 25% done). and of course there’s always new mashups coming down the pipe. It’d be cool to do something live at some point, no idea how thats gonna happen though.

Rick James or Rick Ross? Rick James (RIP)
Motley Crue or Poison? Motley Crew (only chicks like Poison)
Chocolate or Vanilla? Vanilla
Digital or Analog? Analog
High Fashion or Thrift Stores? Thrift stores (and ebay)

any final thoughts?
mashups are *not* a crime against music (as some have sugested). and if you like my stuff pass it on.
